Employee Personal Safety and Working-Environment Protection Measures

  • Occupational health and safety management system
  1. The operating entity Zhejiang Tong Ming has adopted the ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management system, currently valid from 2024/09/10 to 2027/09/09.
  2. The ISO system is certified by TUV Rheinland (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
  • Hazard identification, risk assessment and incident investigation
  1. Hazards are identified and risks assessed, with improvement measures proposed, in accordance with "HS01 Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Control Procedures".
  2. Work injuries are handled in accordance with "HSM034 Work Injury Handling and Management Measures", following the "four don't-let-gos" principle after any accident.
  • Occupational health services

The Company provides occupational health examinations before employment, on the job and on leaving the job. Each year, employees exposed to occupational hazards are given occupational health examinations in accordance with GBZ 188-2014, the Technical Specifications for Occupational Health Surveillance.

  • Worker participation, consultation and communication on occupational health and safety

The Company holds a monthly environmental-safety meeting, at which the environmental-safety section reports on any occupational accidents and environmental-safety risks in the previous month and reviews government requirements and the latest laws and regulations. Departments also raise environmental and occupational-safety problems encountered in their work and discuss solutions at the meeting. Attendees include production department supervisors and full-time and part-time safety officers.

  • Worker training on occupational health and safety
  1. New employees receive three-tier safety training on joining the Company, and each team holds a weekly safety-themed morning meeting.

  • Worker health promotion
  1. The Company has mechanisms for looking after risks to employees' physical and mental health.
  2. The Company provides regular occupational health examinations and welfare health checkups.
  • Preventing and mitigating occupational health and safety impacts directly linked to business relationships

Monthly environmental-safety meetings and supervisors' meetings are held, at which departments discuss major occupational-safety issues and propose solutions.


Operating Performance Reflected in Employee Compensation

Under the Company's articles of association, if the Company is profitable at the end of a fiscal year, 0‰ to 1‰ of the profit is set aside as employee compensation, distributed in stock or cash by resolution of the board of directors; recipients include employees of subordinate companies who meet certain conditions. The Company also has a number of performance-bonus programs to motivate all staff to work toward the Company's goals; bonuses are allocated with regard to each employee's seniority, achievement of targets, performance appraisals and contribution. In addition, the Company reviews peer-market salary surveys every year and adjusts promotions and salaries based on peer-market salary levels, economic trends and individual performance, to keep its compensation competitive.
